What is a Psychosocial Recovery Coach?
Psychosocial Recovery Coaches work with participants with a primary diagnosis of psychosocial disability. Recovery Coaches have specific mental health knowledge and often have an element of lived experience. They mentor, motivate and facilitate participants to reach their NDIS goals by identifying participants’ support needs in a collaborative manner. They connect participants with relevant supports and services, and discuss in detail a participant’s strengths, challenges, aspirations, and experience regarding their mental health.
Support Coordination
What is a Support Coordinator?
Support Coordinators work with participants with a variety of disabilities. They are efficient and practiced at setting up and monitoring supports in accordance with the participants’ NDIS goals and allocated budgets in a timely manner. They assist participants and their network to identify participants’ support needs, connect them with relevant supports and services that will help increase a participants’ capacity, allowing for greater choice, and control over their NDIS journey.
Both services assist participants with understanding their plan, navigating the NDIS, and managing budget categories.
